Kafr ash Shaykh is one of the governorates of Egypt. It lies in the north of the country along the western branch of the Nile. Its capital is Kafr ash Shaykh.

Geography

It has Buhayrat al-Burullus (Burullus Lake) at north. It comprises ten cities:Kafr El-Sheikh City ;Desouk City ;Beila City ;Kellien City ;Metobas City ;Al Riad City ;Foah City ;Balteem City ;Saiedy Salem ;Al Hamool City .

Economy

Industries include cotton-processing factories, rice, fishing.

Education

Kafr ash Shaykh has many colleges.

They all are currently part of Tanta University.
