Mingachevir city, founded in 1948, has 139.5 square kilometers area, the population is 96.1 thousand population and is situated on the bank of the Kur river, near Mingachevir reservoir. 54.4 thousand of population, in other words 56.6% is capable of working. Currently, the number of the employed is 21.3 thousand people, 11.3 thousand of which work in production, the rest in non-production fields. 45% of the existing 13.2 thousand hectares plot of land is the state, 48% municipal, the rest private property. Total sowing area in Mingachevir city is 0.9 thousand hectares. Power-engineering, chemistry, machine-building, industrial construction, light industry fields and sand-gravel production, as well, are economic fields of Mingachevir city. Natural resources of the city are forest, tea, oil, waters resources in reservoir, sand and gravel deposits. According to the indices of 2001, average nominal wage of the population was 22 0274 manats. 3379 refugees and 17 779 IDPs have been settled in Mingachevir city.

                                                   

Industry

60 industrial enterprises functioned in Mingachevir city in 2002. 682.4 billion manats worth  industrial product with actual price  was produced in the very year, which demonstrates 14.3 times decline,  in comparison with the previous year. The fact that this figure lags behind compared to 1995 arouses concern. For example, 849.2 billion, i.e. 166.8 billion manats more industrial product was produced in 1995. Naturally, this decline was evident in average number of employees in industry. It means in comparison with 2000 this index equaled to 7319 decreasing by 25%. Generally, there was 1 355 997 million manats worth industrial-production assets with balance costs which decreased by 224 524 million manats in comparison with the last year as the component of the above mentioned tendency.

According to the statistics data of 2001, 11 542 thousands KWT of electric power (180 000 less), 1568.7 kilometers cable (47.9 kilometers more), 119.3 tons of reinforced rubber pipes (75.7 tons less), 3164.8 thousand square kilometers cotton clothes (2800.4 thousand square kilometers), 68.2 tons of fiber glass cotton fabric (94.4 tons less), 106 000 cube meters construction sand (54.6 thousand more) and 2.4 thousand cube meters of gravel (2.2 thousand cube meters less) were produced in Mingachevir city.

 

Agriculture

In comparison with industry agriculture is continuously developing in Mingachevir city. The largest sow area, i.e. 49 hectares belonged to grain-crops and leguminous plants in 2001. The following place -45 hectares area falls to the share of wheat. 43 tons of grain-crops and leguminous plants, 121 tons of potato, 98 tons of vegetable, 43 tons of grain, 110 tons of vine and 430 tons of fruit and berry was produced according to all agricultural categories of 2001.

According to the forecast of 2003, 1000 tons of harvest will be taken from grain crops and leguminous plants to be sowed in 900 hectares area. This increase is expected in vegetable and fruit production, as well. In comparison with 2002, it is expected to increase of the production volume, in case of non expansion of sowing areas of these products. As to cattle-breeding, it should be noted that the volume of production in this field, as a rule is inclined to the development. For example, 95 tons of live meat weight was produced in 2001, local cattle-breeders forecast by 19 tons more, i.e. 114 tons of product this year. This tendency is evident in hanging meat weight as well. Currently 4 tons of increase is expected from produced 53 tons of stuffs in 2001. Generally, 55 000 eggs and 671 tons of milk were produced in 2001.

 

 

Administrative district of Yevlakh

 

General information

Yevlakh district is situated in the north-west of the country, and was established on 05.03.1935, its area is 1433 square kilometers and has a settlement and 48 villages, subordinate to it. The total population is 109.7 thousand people. 34 000 of out of 61.3 thousand able-bodied population work in the district. Out of 143.3 thousand hectares of land, 62.2 thousand is the state, 33.1 thousand private and 48 000 hectares municipal property. Generally, sowing area is 81 000 hectares. Weaving, cotton-growing and wool-gathering are the main economic fields of the district.

 

Industry

18 industrial enterprises functioned in 2001 in the district and the volume of industrial production was 3165 million manats worth. The value of main assets was 139 372 million manats which is 30 times more compared to 1998. According to the information of 2002, 28 state, 85 private enterprises, 4 co-operatives, one ltd, 28 stock companies and a joint enterprise in the district. Belonging of these private enterprises to agriculture demonstrates the significance of this field in the district economy.

 

Agriculture

Sow area of agricultural plants was 20.04 thousand hectares in Yevlakh district, in 2002. One must note that the biggest part falls to the share of grain crops and leguminous plants in agriculture of the district. Volume of production increased from 33.21 to 39 tons in 2001-2002 and above all, the level of productivity increased 7.5 times in 2001-2002. Besides this, 27.5 tons of yield was taken from 9.84 hectares grain area in 2001, which is 88 times more than that of the last year. 0.58 thousand tons of potato, 6.17 thousand tons of vegetable, 5.6 thousand tons of melon and gourds, 4.1 thousand tons of vine, 2.1 thousand tons of cotton and 60 tons of tobacco were produced in the same year, which are more in comparison with 2000.

The said increase in production is observed in cattle-breeding, as well. For example; the total number of cattle throughout all agricultural categories was 68985 in 2001. Hanging meat weight was 12 396 000, in other words by 8.4 more. According to the prognosis of 2003, 0.2 tons of increase is expected in the production of live meat weight, 2500 eggs and 5 tons of increase in milk production.

 

                                             

Administrative district of Aghdash

 

General information

Aghdash district is one of districts in lowland region of our country. The district was created on 08.08.1930, total area 1.05 thousand square kilometers, has 2 settlements subordinate to it, 72 villages, 91.7 thousand people (January 1, 2002). According to the information of 2001, 112 refugees and 3448 IDPs live in the district. Total plot of land of the district is 102.3 thousand hectares, 28.8 thousand hectares is state, 34.4 thousand hectares private, 39.1 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, arable land is 27.8 thousand hectares. Production and processing of agricultural products are the main economic fields of the district.

 

Industry

7 industrial enterprises functioned in Aghdash district in 2001. The number of employees at these enterprises was 398 people; volume of products produced 10 259.3 million manats. The interesting fact is that if in 1998 average monthly wage of the employees of industrial enterprises of the district was 84.8 thousand manats, in 2001 this index reached 186 thousand manats, main industrial-production assets correspondingly from 1899 million to 19 729 million manats. All these show that production-oriented enterprises have begun to develop, as well.

 

Agriculture

In comparison with 1995, potato production increased 1225 (2449 tons), vegetable 50 (23 269 tons), grain 1.6 (30 651 tons), melon and gourds 216 times (8436 tons), fruit and berries 1156 (11561 tons) and grain 1.2 times (17 293 tons) in 2001. Productivity in the production of main plant-growing stuffs, per hectare increased by 77.0, vegetable 94.2, grain 10.6, melon and gourds 87.3 and wheat 6.9 centners. Certain changes have been observed in the production of cattle-breeding products in the district, as well. For example, in comparison with 1995, the number of big horned cattle increased by 4299, sheep and goats 10 831 stocks and cow and buffaloes increased by 751 stocks. Besides meat products (hanging meat weight) increased by 1984 tons, milk production 1464 tons and egg decreased by 1 834 000.

 

                             

Administrative district of Barda

 

General information

Barda district, established in 1930, occupies 957 square kilometers area and its population is 131.7 thousand people. The district is located in Merkezi Aran (Central Lowland), 314 kilometers away from Baku. 27.8% of the population lives in the city and 72.2% in the village. There are settlement and 107 village s in the district. At the same time, 975 refugees and 48 863 IDPs live in the district. Forest, tea, mineral waters, liquorices, sand-gravel deposits are natural resources of Barda district. Cattle-breeding, cotton-growing, grain-growing, silkworm breeding and vegetable-growing are the main economic fields of the district.  According to the information of 2002, 72.2 thousand of the population are able-bodied, 49.7 thousand of which have been provided with jobs. 6% of working population is engaged in production and 94% in non-production fields. Besides, number of the unemployed enrolled in employment service is 3867 people.

 

Industry

Industry has a small share in the economy of Barda district, which proves poor development of the field. According to the information of 2001, 9 industrial enterprises function in the district. The volume of products produced in the same year constituted 11960.6 million manats: this figure shows 260 times decline (or 31 201 million manats) in comparison with 1995. The difference was obvious on average list of numbers of employees in industry through the mentioned years. For example; in 1995, this figure was 2182 people, while in 2001 it decreased by 1040.

 

Agriculture

When looking at production and forecast indices in agrarian sector in Barda district, one can see development tendency of the current situation. 48.74 thousand hectares of area was planted with agricultural plants in 2001. The largest sow area fell to the share of grain crops and leguminous plants. 26.42 thousand hectares area was sowed with grain in the very year and 82.53 thousand tons of yield taken from that field. 86.4 thousand tons of grain is predicted in the area, expanded by 280 hectares in 2003. In addition to this, increase is expected in the production of melon and gourds, as well. In comparison with 2001, the extension of the sow area for these plants by 450 hectares and increase of production volume from 17.81 thousand to 24 000 tons were forecasted in 2003. Generally, 5.23 thousand tons of potato, 40.35 tons of vegetable and 9.31 tons of fruit were produced in 2001; the growth of all these products was expected in 2003. As to cattle-breeding products, slow development tempo is characteristic of this field. 3.39 thousand tons of hanging meat weight, 15.5 thousand eggs, 26.55 thousand tons of milk were produced in 2001. According to the prognostic indices of 2003, increment is being expected, to some extent, in the production of these stuffs. 58 268 stocks of big horned cattle were recorded in 2001 in the district, which is by 9610 stocks more, in comparison with 1995.

 

 

Administrative district of Aghjabadi

 

General information

Aghjabadi district, established in 1930, has 1756 square kilometers area and 111,3 thousand population. The district is situated 263 kilometers away from Baku. 31,2 % of the district population live in the city and 68,8% in the village. There are a settlement, 45 villages and 3 refugee settlements in the district. At the same time, 268 refugees and 18 110 IDPs live in Aghjabadi district. Sand, gravel and Agh gol reserve are the natural resources of Aghjabadi district. Cotton-growing, grain-growing, cattle-breeding and silkworm breeding are traditional production fields of the district. According to the information of January1, 2003, basically 72,7 thousand of the population are considered to be able-bodied: 62,6 thousand have been provided with jobs. 88% of working people are involved in production, the rest 12% in non-production fields. Besides this, the number of employees registered in the district employment service is 172 people. In 2001, nominal wage of working people constituted 140 809,8 manats in Aghjabadi district.

 

Industry

Low share of industry in the economy of Aghjabadi district proves slow development of the field. According to the information of 2001, 2 industrial enterprises function in the district. Volume of industrial production constituted 1074 million manats with current prices, which shows a great figure in comparison with 1995: approximately 30 times decline (or 29 517 million manats). The difference was observed in the average list of industrial employees in the mentioned years, as well. For example, if in 1995 this figure constituted 563 people, in 2001 it decreased by 419 people. It should be noted that the condition in 2001, according to the above mentioned indices, lags behind in comparison with the previous year. Besides this, if in 2001, the value of main production assets constituted 18 729 million manats by the end of the year with balanced prices, which increased by 73,4 %, i.e. 13 750 million manats in comparison with the previous year. Seeds are in the first place in the industrial production in 2001, in Aghjabadi district. 1637,4 tons of seed was produced in the same year, but this figure is by 64,1 tons less in comparison with 2000. This negative tendency was observed in the production of seedless raw cotton, for example, in 2000 2804 tons, and 158 tons less, i.e. 1081 tons of seedless raw cotton in 2001.

 

Agriculture

Compared to the industry, when cast a glance upon production and prognostic indices in agrarian sector of Aghjabadi district, one can see gradual development of the current situation. 41.3 thousand hectares area was planted with agricultural plants in 2001, in the district. The largest sowing area belonged to grain-crops and leguminous plants. 20.57 thousand hectares area was planted with wheat and 47.6 thousand tons of yield taken from that field in the very year. Besides this, as a result of the increase of productivity 19 times, production of 55 000 tons of wheat was forecasted in 2003. Partial increase is expected in the production of melon and gourds. In comparison with 2001, it was forecasted that the sowing areas for these plants would expand by 130 hectares and production volume reach from 5.47 thousand to 7.4 thousand tons in 2003. Generally, 2.35 thousand tons of potato, 7.28 thousand tons of vegetable and 10.03 tons of fruit were produced in 2001; growth according to the production of all these sorts of products was expected in 2003. Slow development is characteristic to cattle-breeding field. In 2001, 2.48 thousand tons of meat, 118 737 eggs, 46.14 thousand tons of milk were produced. Increase, to some extent, is expected in the production of these products in the prognostic indices of 2003. In 2001, 71 544 stocks of horned-cattle were enrolled in the district, which is by 2441 stocks in comparison with 2000.

 

 

Zardab

 

General information

Zardab is one of the districts in low-lying lands of our country. The district was founded on 05.02.1935, the total area is 0.86 thousand square kilometers, it has a city, a settlement, subordinate to it, 40 villages, and the population is 47.6 thousand (January1, 2002). According to the information of 2001, 1267 IDPs live in the district. The total plot of land of the district is 85.6 thousand hectares, 32.3 thousand hectares of which is the state, 26.1 thousand hectares private, 27.2 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, arable land is 27.5 thousand hectares. Production and processing of agricultural products are the main economic fields of the district.

 

Industry

11 industrial enterprises functioned in Zardab district in 2001.Number of employees in these enterprises reached 354 people, volume of production 8 338 million manats. The interesting fact is that if in 1995 average monthly wage of employees engaged in industrial enterprises of the district was 75.2 thousand manats, in 2001 this index reached 191.9 thousand manats, value of industrial-production assets correspondingly reached from 957 million to 12 594 million manats. All these show that, production-oriented enterprises have started to develop, as well.

 

Agriculture

In comparison with 1995, potato production increased 9.7 (844 tons), vegetable 63,5, grain 1.3 (21413 tons), melon and gourds 32.6 (11 327 tons) and wheat 1.7 times (18 188 tons) in 2001. Productivity in the production of main plant-growing products increased by 38.6, vegetable 92.8, grain 6.4, melon and gourds 111.0 and wheat production 7,5 centners in the corresponding period, in agricultural field of the district. Generally, development of agrarian relations can be considered as satisfactory, taking into account the said positive tendencies. Certain changes have been observed in cattle-breeding production in the district, as well. In 2002, the number of horned cattle increased by 11 086, cow and buffaloes 5106, and sheep and goats 33 713 stocks, in comparison with 1995, in the district. Moreover, meat products grew by (flesh meat) 608, milk production 3530, and egg 2 455 000 in the corresponding period.

 

 

Adminitrative district of Ujar

 

General information

Ujar is one of the districts in low-lying lands of our country. The district was established on 24.01.1939, the total area is 0.85 thousand square kilometers, has 29 villages, subordinate to it and population is 72.8 thousand people (January 1, 2002). According to the information of 2001, there are 87 refugees and 1005 IDPs in the district. The total plot of land of the district is 83.4 thousand hectares, 16.2 thousand hectares of which is the state, 22.8 thousand private and 44.4 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, the arable land is 24.4 thousand hectares.

 

Industry

9 industrial enterprises functioned in Ujar district in 2001. The number of employees engaged in these enterprises reached 351 people and the volume of production 1938,4 million manats. The interesting fact is that if in 1995, the average monthly wage of employees in industrial enterprises constituted 57.1 thousand manats, in 2001 this index was 180.9 thousand manats, value of main industrial-production facilities correspondingly reached from 1797 million to 24 251 million manats. All these show that production-oriented enterprises in the district have started to develop, as well.

 

Agriculture

In comparison with 1995, vegetable production increased 7.4 (5111 tons), grain 1.5 (17 653 tons), melon and gourds 3.5 (518 tons), fruit and berries 146 (10212 tons) and wheat 1.7 times (13 364 tons) in 2001. Productivity in the production of main plant-growing products per hectare for potato increased by 8.1, vegetable 6.5, grain 11.0, melon and gourds and wheat by 11.3 centners. Generally, despite the decline of volume of several agricultural products, development of agrarian relations in the district can be considered to be satisfactory, taking into account the said positive tendencies. Certain changes have been observed in the production of cattle-breeding products. For example, number of big horned cattle increased by 4635, cow and buffaloes 5298, sheep and goats 16 609 stocks.

 

 

Administrative district of Goychay

 

General information

Goychay is of the districts of our country, located at the bottom of the Small Caucasus. The district was established on 08.08.1930, the total area is 0.74 thousand square kilometers, has one city, 55 villages, subordinate to it, and population is 102.9 thousand people (January 1, 2002). According to the information of 2001, 60 refugees and 2024 people IDPs live in the district. The total plot of land of the district is 64.3 thousand hectares, 4.8 thousand hectares of which is the state, 28.1 thousand private, and 31,4 thousand hectares municipal property. In total, arable land is 34 thousand hectares. Production and processing of agricultural products are the main economic fields of the district.

 

Industry

14 industrial enterprises functioned in the district in 2001. The number of employees engaged in these enterprises reached 756 people, the volume of production 7371.3 million manats. The interesting fact is that if in 1995 average monthly wage of employees engaged in industrial enterprises of the district constituted 35 000 manats, in 2001 this index reached 124.4 thousand manats, the value of main industrial-production assets correspondingly reached from 8277 million manats to 123 898 million manats. All these show that production-oriented enterprises have started to develop in the district.

 

Agriculture

In comparison with 1995, vegetable production increased 73 (22 126 tons), grain twice (31 824 tons), melon and gourds 850 (1699 tons), and wheat 3,0 times (18 098 tons). In addition to the mentioned, vineyards declined by 2035 hectares and production 5643 tons. Besides this, while in 1995-2001 orchards and berry fields reduced by 213 hectares, volume of production increased by 25 825 tons. Productivity in the production of the above-mentioned plant-growing stuffs per hectare, for potato increased by 3.2, vegetable 137.1, grain 8.8, melon and gourds by 178.0 and wheat 10.5 centners. Certain changes have been observed in the production of cattle-breeding products, as well. For example, number of cattle increased by 3946, cow and buffaloes 3905, sheep and goats by 20 883 stocks.

 

 

Beylagan

 

General information

The central lowland district, Beylagan is one of the borderline districts of our country. The district was established in 1939. The total area of the district is 1.13 thousand square kilometers, has 26 villages and 14 rural settlements. Its population is 80 000 people (January 1, 2002). The density of the population is 71 people per 1 square kilometer. According to the information of 2001, 468 refugees and 16 242 IDPs have been settled in the district. The total plot of land of the district is 113.1 thousand hectares, 69.8 thousand of which is the state, 41 thousand hectares private, and 2.3 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, the arable land is 43.7 thousand hectares. Sand-gravel is the main natural resources, plant-growing and cattle-breeding are the main economic fields.

 

Industry

9 industrial enterprises functioned in Beylagan district in 2001. Average number of employees in these enterprises has reached 436 people and the volume of production 5149.1 million manats. The interesting fact is that if in 1995, average monthly wage of employees engaged in industrial enterprises constituted 55.2 thousand manats, in 2001 234.3 thousand manats, and the value of main industrial-production assets correspondingly reached from 4101 million to 27 104 million manats. All these show that production-oriented enterprises have started to develop as well.

 

Agriculture

It should be pointed out that in comparison with 1995, potato production increased 7 (773 tons), vegetable 12.1 (4806 tons), grain 2.5 (39 803 tons), melon and gourds 3.6 (2091 tons), fruit and berries 67.3 (4641 tons), and wheat 2.8 times (39 307 tons) in 2001. In addition to the above mentioned, the vineyards declined by 2311 hectares and production by 9856 tons. In comparison with 1998, while fruit and berry fields decreased by 31 hectares, the production volume increased by 2615 tons. The fertility in the production of main plant-growing products per hectare for potato increased by 12.9, vegetable 23.9, grain 13.7, melon and gourds 4.1, grapes 4.4, fruit and berries 170.6 (32 times) and wheat 15 centners. Certain changes have been observed in the production of cattle-breeding products in the district, as well. For example, in comparison with 1995, the number of cattle increased by 10 247, sheep and goats by 25 034 stocks in 2001.

 

 

Administrative district of Imishli

 

General information

Imishli is one of the borderline districts of the country. The total area of the district is 1 890 000 square kilometers and has 106.1 thousand people (January 1, 2002). The number of the able-bodied constitutes 59.9 thousand people. At the same time, 109 refugees and 17141 IDPs have been inhabited in the district. The total plot of land of the district is 129 000 hectares, 76.9 thousand hectares of which is the state, 37.1 thousand hectares private and 15 000 hectares municipal property. Generally, the arable land is 114 hectares.

 

Industry

10 industrial enterprises functioned in Imishli district in 2001. The number of employees in these enterprises has reached 1463 people, the volume of stuffs produced 15 163.5 million manats. The interesting fact is that if in 1995 the average monthly wage of employees engaged in industrial enterprises constituted 70.7 thousand manats, in 2001 337.4 thousand manats, the value of main industrial-production facilities correspondingly increased from 18 425 million to 431 814 million manats. All these are indicative of the fact that production-oriented enterprises have started to develop, as well, in the district.

 

Agriculture

It should be noted that in comparison with 1995, potato production increased by 100.4 (4920 tons), vegetable 95.7 (9570 tons), grain 1.9 (48 230 tons), melon and gourds 13.3 (14.4 tons), and wheat 1.9 times (36.64 tons). In addition to the above-said, vineyards declined in the corresponding period, but the production of stuffs increased by 208 tons. Besides that, in 1995-2001, the sowing area of orchards and berry fields increased 295 times and the volume of production 1010 times. Fertility in the production of the above-mentioned main plant-growing products, per hectare, for potato increased by 47.9, vegetable 70.1, grain 12.3, melon and gourds 38 and wheat 11.9 centners. As a whole, rural farmer economies and also other forms of economy have developed in the district. Certain changes have been observed in the production of main cattle-breeding products. For example, in comparison with the number of horned cattle has increased by 13 843 stocks and sheep and goats 52 836 stocks in 2001, in the district. Besides this, meat products (cut meat) increased by 918 tons, egg by 8 418 000 and milk production 2346 tons.

 

 

Administrative district of Kurdamir

 

General information

Kurdamir is one of the biggest districts of the country in lowland region. It was established on 08.08.1930, the total area is 1.63 thousand square kilometers, has 1 city, 2 settlements and 61 villages and the population is 95.1 000 people (January 1, 2002). According to the information of 2001, 465 refugees and 2631 IDPs live in the district. The total plot of land of the district is 116.1 thousand hectares, 21.2 thousand hectares of which is the state, 49.6 thousand hectares private, 45.3 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, the arable land is 48 000 hectares. Production and processing of agricultural products are the main economic fields of the district.

 

Industry

5 industrial enterprises functioned in Kurdamir district. Number of employees engaged in these enterprises was 495 people, the production volume reached 7915.2 million manats. The interesting fact is that if in 1995 average monthly wage of employees engaged in industrial enterprises constituted 54.8 thousand manats, in 2000 this index reached 134.1 thousand manats, and the value of the main industrial-production assets correspondingly from 7038 million  to 72 495 million manats. All these show that production- oriented enterprises have started to develop, as well.

 

Agriculture

 

In comparison with 1997, potato production increased 15 (13 108 tons), fruit and berries approximately twice (16 280 tons), and in comparison with 1995, vegetable production 31 (32 079 tons), grain 2.5 (48 132 tons), melon and gourds 24 (32 079 tons), and wheat 2.6 times (28 321 tons) in 2001. In addition to the above mentioned, vineyards declined by 556 hectares and vine production by 1429 tons.

Fertility of the said main plant growing products per hectare, in the corresponding period, for potato increased by 18.8, vegetable 58.8, grain 5.7, melon and gourds 30.9 and wheat by 7.1 centners. Certain changes have been observed in the production of cattle-breeding products in the district. For example, in 2001, the number of cattle increased by 8483 stocks, cow and buffaloes 5657, sheep and goats by 37 561 stocks, in comparison with 1995. Moreover, meat products (cut) increased by 1060, milk 535 tons, egg 2 430 000 in the corresponding period.

 

 

Administrative district of Bilasuvar

 

General information

Bilasuvar is one of lowland districts of our country. The district was founded on 08.08.1930, the total area is 1358.9 square kilometers, has one settlement and 25 villages subordinate to it. The population is 77.8 thousand people. 5.9 thousand out of 42.4 thousand able-bodied population, also 2.1 thousand are engaged in production and 3.8 thousand in non-production fields. 81.6 thousand hectares plot of land is the state, 34.1 thousand hectares private, 20.1 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, the sowing area is 45.5 thousand hectares. Cotton-growing, grain-growing, cattle-breeding and poultry-keeping are the basic economic fields of the district.

 

Industry

Definite changes have been observed in the production of cattle-breeding stuffs. So, in comparison with 1995, number of horned cattle reduced by 30 760 stocks, sheep and goats by 14 714 stocks. Saatly district is one of low-land areas of our country. The district was established on 25.05.1943, the total area is 1180 square kilometers, has a city-settlement and 41 villages. The total number of the population is 84.5 thousand people. 37.3 thousand of 48.9 thousand able-bodied people, also 30.6 thousand people are engaged in production and 6.7 thousand in non-production fields. 53.347 thousand hectares out of 118.047 thousand land is the state, 43.776 thousand private, and 20.924 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, the arable land is 44.5 thousand hectares. Cotton-growing and grain-growing are the main economic fields of the district.

According to property forms, 70 state, 38 individual (family), also 22 farm’s economic fields, 5 ltds, 5 JSCs, 109 joint (with full shareholder), 13 joint enterprises and 671 natural persons functioned in the district. According to the organizational-legal form of enterprises, 70 functioned in the state and 863 in private sector, and the number of those involved in these enterprises was 5591; 2703 people, and production of goods and performance of services with actual prices reached 7444.2; 15 259.648 million manats.

In comparison with 1995, potato production increased 616.7 (3694 tons), vegetable 18.4 (3782 tons), grain 3.1 (69 760 tons), melon and gourds 7.4 (13918 tons), wheat 3.7 times (67 188 tons) in 2002 in the district. Vine production increased by 48, fruit and berry production by 31 tons in 1997-2002. According to the information of 2002, productivity in the production of the main plant-growing stuffs per hectare, for potato increased by 46, vegetable 55, grain 38, melon and gourds 85, wheat and vine production correspondingly 38; 100 centners in 2002. Definite changes have been observed in the production of cattle-breeding products, as well. For example, in comparison with 1995, number of horned cattle increased by 14 826, sheep and goats 29 171 stocks. In addition to this, meat products (cut) increased by 801 tons, egg 7 953 000 and milk production 5114 tons in the corresponding period.

The district was established in 08.08.1930, the total area is 1469 square kilometers, and has one settlement and 74 villages, subordinate to it. The total number of the population is 140.2 thousand people. 10.2 thousand of 76.4 thousand people able to work, also 19 thousand are involved in production , 8.3 thousand in non-production fields. 32.5 thousand hectares out of 146.9 thousand hectares, 55.9 thousand hectares private, 58.5 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, the sowing area is 56.2 thousand hectares. Cotton growing, grain-growing and cattle breeding are the main economic fields of the district.

The number of employees engaged in these enterprises has reached 1239 people, and the volume of produced stuffs 3510.4 million manats. Hajigabul is one lowland areas of our country. The district was founded on 24.04.1990, the total area is 1641 square kilometers, has 2 settlements and 27 villages, subordinate to it. The overall number of the population is 59.6 thousand people. 4.348 thousand out of 32.9 thousand able-bodied population of the district, also 1.797 thousand are involve d in production and 1.551 thousand in non-production fields. 1.879 thousand hectares out of 47.6 thousand hectares is the state, 21 000 hectares private, 24.708 thousand hectares municipal property. Generally, the sowing area is 22 000 hectares. Cattle-breeding, husbandry, poultry-keeping and carpet-weaving are the main economic fields, oil, gas, gravel and brick natural resources of the district.

According to the information of 2002, productivity in the production of main plant growing products, per hectare, in agricultural field, for vegetable increased by 206, grain 33.4, melon and gourds 132.5, wheat and vine correspondingly  36.8; 198 centners. Definite changes were observed in the production of cattle-growing products as well. For example, in comparison with 1995, the number of horned cattle increased by 7519, cow-buffaloes 1709, sheep and goats 297 785 stocks in 2001.
