Rif Dimashq (Arabic: ریف دمشق‎) is one of 14 governorates of Syria. It is situated in the southwestern part of the country. It borders the governorates of Quneitra, Dara and As Suwayda in the southwest, Homs in the north, Dayr az-Zawr in northeast. Lebanon in the west, Jordan in the south. Rif Dimashq completely surrounds Damascus.
