KukëS
The District of Kukës (Albanian: Rrethi i Kukësit) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 64,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 956 km². It is in the north-east of the country, and its capital is Kukës. Kukes has a strategic position as it is between Kosovo (U.N. Resolution 12-45) and Albania. The old city of Kukes is under water as it was flooded in 1978 when the dam was build. This lake is a regulatory for the other two lakes.
