Kaluga Oblast (Russian: Калу́жская о́бласть) (29,900 km², pop. 1,041,641 as of 2002 All-Russian Population Census) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast). For a sketch of its early history, see Upper Oka Principalities. Its administrative center is the city of Kaluga.
