Industry
9 industrial enterprises functioned in Shamakhy district. Number of workers of these enterprises is 274 people and volume of the product produced reached 1644.3 million manats. The interesting fact is that average monthly wage is 39.8 thousand manats, this index was 170.8 thousand manats in 2001, value of main industrial- production funds reached from 38 691 to 40 349 million manats.
Agriculture
In comparison with 1995 in 2001 potato production increased 154 (4010 tonnes), vegetable 12 (3770 tonnes), grain 2.1 (24931 tonnes), melon and gourds 61 (304 tonnes), grain 3.1 times (18 098 tonnes). In addition to the above said vineyards decreased by 4033 hectares and production increased by 869 tonnes. Besides that, while orchards and berry fields decreased by 20 hectares, volume of production increased by 670 tonnes. Productivity in production of the above mentioned plant –growing products in agriculture of the district- for potato increased by 63.7, vegetable 58.8, grain 13.7, melon and gourds 54.1 and wheat production 15 and wheat 15.9 centners. Certain changes have been observed in production of cattle- breeding products as well. As number of horned cattle- breeding products in 2001 increased by 11 036, cow and buffaloes 6699, sheep and goats 31 806 stocks in comparison with 1995. Increase of total number of cows, buffaloes, sheep and goats is the result of division of property of collective and state farms, also pasture areas among country population and favourable condition created for private economies. Besides that, meat products (slaughtered) increased by 502, milk production 7952 tonnes and egg decreased by 1026 in the corresponding period.
Ismayilly district

Ismayilly is one big districts of our country. The district was established in 24.11.1939, total area is 2.06 thousand square kilometers and has 1 city, 2 settlements and 106 villages, and population is 74.6 thousand people (
Industry
In 2001, 11 industrial enterprises functioned in Ismayilly district. Number of workers of these enterprises reached 434 people; volume of product produced 3436.8 million manats. Interesting fact is that if in 1995 average wage of workers at industrial enterprises was 27.1 thousand manats, in 2001 163.1 thousand manats, value of industrial- production funds correspondingly from 2627 million to 36 750 million manats.
Agriculture
In comparison with 1995 potato production increased 41 (3497 tonnes), vegetable 12.4 (4973 tonnes), grain 2.2 (65 683 tonnes), fruit and berries 49 (7151 tonnes) and wheat 2.3 times (46 194 tonnes) in the district in 2001. In addition to these, vineyards decreased by 2711 hectares and vine production 5931 tonnes. Productivity in production of plant- growing in agricultural field per hectare for potato increased by 38.6, vegetable 55.7, grain 7.9, fruit and berries 113.6 and wheat production 11.3 centners in the district. Certain changes have been observed in production of cattle- breeding products in the district as well. As in comparison with 1995 the number of horned cattle increased by 10 104, cow and buffaloes 6474, sheep and goats 50 447 stocks in 2001 in the district. Besides that, meat products (slaughtered) decreased by 1599, egg 2 164 000 and milk production 3263 tonnes.
Aghsu district
General information
Aghsu is one of the districts in Aran. The district was established in 08.10.1943, total area is 1.02 thousands square kilometers, has 77 villages and population is 64.5 thousand people (
Industry
3 industrial enterprises functioned in Aghsu district in 2001. Number of workers reached 223 people, volume of products (produced) 180.1 million manats at these enterprises. The interesting fact is that if in 1998 average wage of employees of industrial enterprises was 33.6 thousand manats, in 2001 this index reached 181.6 thousand manats, industrial- production funds correspondingly from 1782 million to 93295 manats.
Agriculture
In comparison with 1995 potato production grew 13 (78 tonnes), vegetable 18 (1917 tonnes), grain 3.1 (48 425 tonnes), melon and gourds 3 (4170), fruit and berries 331 (4300), wheat 4.3 times (35 074 tonnes). In addition to the above said, vineyards descended to 6604 and production to 8285 tonnes in the district in the considered period. Productivity for plant- growing production per hectare in potato accordingly increased by 0.5, vegetable 39.2, grain 12.0, melon and gourds 56.6 and wheat production 13.3 centners. Certain changes have been observed in cattle breeding production in the district as well. In comparison with 1995, the number of horned cattle increased by 7107, cow and buffaloes 2707, sheep and goats 32 653 stocks in 2002 in the district. Growth of overall number of cow and buffaloes, sheep and goats is the result of division of collective and state farms’ property among population and favourable condition created for private economies. In addition to this, meat products decreased (slaughtered) by 10, milk production 2032 and egg 2938 thousands.
Gobustan district
General information
Gobustan district was established in 1990, total area is 1369.4 000 hectares, 41.4 000 of it is state, 30.9 000 private and 64.6 000 hectares municipal property. Generally arable land is 31.4 000 hectares.
Agriculture
It should be noted that in comparison with 1995 vegetable products increased 21.6 (801 tonnes), grain 2.9 (39214 tonnes), melon and gourds 140.5 (562 tonnes), fruit 1.1 (987 tonnes) and potato 5.6 times (768 tonnes) in 1997 in the district. In addition to the above mentioned productivity in production of main plant- growing products in agricultural field of the district per hectare for grain increased by 9.1, grape 119.5, melon and gourds 9.0 centners, only productivity of potato in comparison with 1997 decreased by 34.1 and vegetable 8.7 centners in comparison with 1995. Certain changes have been observed in production of cattle- breeding products in the district. As number of horned cattle in comparison with 1995 increased by 8506, sheep and goats 40.130 stocks in the district in 2001. Moreover, meat products (slaughtered) increased by 567 tonnes, milk production 1738 and egg 1164.
Industry
2 industrial enterprises functioned in Gobustan district in 2001. Number of employees of these enterprises was 132 people; volume of product produced 162.6 million manats. The interesting fact is that if average monthly wage is 38.5 000 manats at industrial enterprises of the district in 1995, in 2001 it was 193.0 000 manats, value of main industrial- production funds reached from 350 million manats to 6663.0 manats. All these show that production- oriented enterprises have started to develop.
