Battambang (also Batdambang) is a province of Cambodia. It is in the northwest of the country, and its capital is Battambang. The name literally means loss of stick referring to a legend of Preah Bat Dambang Kranhoung (Kranhoung Stick King).

The province is subdivided into 13 districts (srok): Banan ; Thma Koul ; Bat Dambang ; Bavel ; Ek Phnom ; Moung Ruessei ; Rotanak Mondol ; Sangkae ; Samlout ; Sampov Loun ; Phnum Proek ; Kamrieng ; Koas Krala .

Battambang is home to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows / SOS Children's Village, an orphanage
